Message from the Secretary, VSI

Vascular Society of India

Dear friends,

Warm greetings from the new Executive Committee of VSI. We had a fruitful meeting with good scientific content during VSICON 2011 at Mumbai from 29th September - 01 October 2011. The meeting was very well organized by Dr. Paresh Pai, Dr. R.Shekar & Dr. Pankaj Patel and many faculties attended from different countries. The Executive Committee compliments all the office bearers for their sincere contribution.

Dr. N.Sekar, the Immediate Past President utilized his good offices and created M.Ch programmes in Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Science & Technology, Trivandrum, M.S.Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, CMC, Vellore and Army R&R Hospital, Delhi. With this we can expect more vascular surgeons catering to different cities in India and providing dedicated vascular services to needy patients. I am extremely happy to inform that vascular surgery in India is growing and more & more young vascular surgeons with skills in open and endovascular procedures are passing out every year.

Members desirous of starting M.Ch programs can co-ordinate with me for the same. I would also request members to conduct CME programs/ awareness programs in their respective regions for which VSI will support them in their endeavors. The new executive committee is very keen that we continue with our efforts to spread the knowledge of vascular diseases and we plan to conduct programs in non metro centers over FM Radio, write ups in leading news papers and creating awareness during vascular day, DVT day and Anti tobacco day.

I shall be interacting with you and request you to register for the VSI blog and make it more interactive.

Best wishes

Prof. T.Vidyasagaran
