Message from the Secretary, VSI

Vascular Society of India

Dear friends,

I would like to extend warm greetings from the new Executive Committee of the VSI. We had a wonderful meeting during VSICON 2009 at Hyderabad from 29th October- 01Nov 2009. The meeting was very well organized by Dr Pinjala R K and Dr P C Gupta and we have received lots of credits from the International and National faculty. The Executive Committee would like to compliment all the office bearers for their great contribution and I am sure that successive organisers will emulate this meeting in the future annual meetings in terms of timing and scientific content.

We also plan to have sessions to be conducted by the DNB/ MCh residents including some debates and literature search to make the programs more interactive..

The Society is engaging with the National Board of Examinations for designing the curriculum, examination pattern and other issues. Dr K R Suresh, the Immediate Past President and self have met the authorities and we will continue to interact with them to improve training in Vascular Surgery.

Members desirous of starting DNB programs can co-ordinate with me for the same. I would also request members to conduct CME programs/ awareness programs in their respective regions for which VSI will support them in their endeavors. Dr N Sekar, our dynamic President is very keen that we continue with our efforts to spread the knowledge of Vascular diseases and we plan to conduct programs in non metro centers over FM Radio.

I shall be interacting with you and request you to register for the VSI blog and make it more interactive.

Best wishes

Varinder Bedi
